125th Anniversary Celebration of this congregation
Anniversary Sunday, June 29, 2008, was a wonderful
success, thanks to everyone's tireless efforts!
Our guest preacher for the day was Rev. Dr. Kenneth Moore, Regional Minister, Christian Church (DOC) in Nebraska
Rev. Dr. Moore's message was "SOME THINGS TO FORGET ON THIS 125th ANNIVERSARY"
Rev. J. Milton Bryarly, Ashland FCC Pastor,
was the Worship Leader for the days events.

The Ashland First Christian Church was founded in 1883.
While we are in our second building, we have always been in the same location.

FOOD PANTRY AUGUST NEEDS for the Ashland Food Pantry are:
vegetable soup, dish soap and cereal.
There is a box located at the rear of the sanctuary for your donations.

SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS NEEDED!
Do you have five hours a month to volunteer to
teach young people about the Word of GOD?
Four classes are being planned:
Pre-Kindergarten
Kindergarten and 1st Grades
2nd, 3rd and 4th grades
Junior and Senior High
Please call the church at 944-7070 if you'd like to
volunteer or have a child who would like to attend.
SAVE THOSE CANS!
Please save all your aluminum cans and bring them to the church for recycling.
The PROPERTY COMMITTEE has been collecting these cans, taking them to a recyling center.
ALL PROCEEDS from this effort will go into the PROPERTY FUND,
which will then be used to pay off the loan for the property
recently purchased just to the west of the church.
Thus far, over $300.00 has been collected!
THANK YOU - Keep put the good work!
The cans should be placed in plastic bags;
the bags of cans be left inside the fenced area behind the church.

Please remember to notify the pastor or church office if you or someone you
know is in the hospital. Due to privacy laws, the hospital does not notify us.
LYNN COOPER, Adminstrative Assistant to the Pastor, announced her resignation on July 2, 2008. Lynn has accepted the position of Office Manager at the First Chistian Church in Omaha NE.
Lynn has served our congregation with distinction since May of 2007.
While we are very sad to lose Lynn, we wish her well in her new position
and are pleased that a sister congregation will learn to love her, as we have.
Lynn has agreed to serve us in a limited capacity, as her time permits, and will be
assisting us in the training of the Administrative Assistant that is hired to take her place.

Care Center Services
The Ashland First Christian Church leads a worship service at the
Ashland Care Center on the 4th Sunday of every month - 9:15 am
Delise Hauschild has been quietly leading the service for several years.
Thank you, Delise!!
Volunteers would be appreciated in helping with this important outreach!
The service lasts about 30 minutes so there is plenty of time to
make it back to the church for part of Sunday School, Worship & Communion.

Chapel Service - each Thursday afternoon - 2:00 pm
